The Verizon iPhone is available now, although the design is almost identical to the iPhone 4 there are some changes. This is basically the same version as the standard iPhone 4. It has the same specs, the same A4 CPU, 512MB ram etc. The phone now supports the CMDA network. This required a different antenna design but it doesn't stand out in any way, just minor changes. It is also good to know that this is just an Apple iPhone Verizon version. Its not a world phone thus the lack of 4G data or GSM roaming.
The reviews I have read say that the phone handles calls better compared to AT&T. There are fewer dropped calls with this phone however the problem is not entirely gone. Its all about the coverage in the area you are staying. If you already have a weak signal in an area where the coverage is low the call could be dropped or experience interference if you move / walk around a bit. With that said reviewers say that the handset handles calls a lot better than the AT&T version.
When the first iPhone was released it is true that the mobile networks didn't anticipate how much network traffic those smartphones would create. Remember that those networks was only used for phonecalls, texting and the occasional WAP. When we added Internet into the mix and started using the phone for other things then just calling the demand and strain on the networks skyrocketed. They are getting better in handling this today but still have a way to go making it perfect.
