Change the Timemachine backup interval
In Mac OS X Leopard Apple introduced TimeMachine Backup. The software that would backup your harddrive without you having to worry about anything other than selecting the drive you want the backups on. One drawback is that it backups every single hour, and it cant be changed, until now.
Time Machine backups your files every single hour and this can not be changed from the Time Machine settings.
The settings are stored in a configuration file, so you can actually change the backup interval yourself editing the configuration file. But there are easier ways to do this. One application called TimeMachineEditor will help you with this. The only thing this application does is to update the configuration file. The application is free too.
This way you can have your backups weekly instead, for example. If you look in the Time Machine settings after you have made the change it will probably not display the correct time for the next backup. This can be ignored, it will still work.
