The Secret of Monkey Island for iPhone - Special Edition
The Secret of Monkey Island is a port of a popular point and click game made in 1990. LucasArts have now released this game for the iPhone with huge success.
You play as a young guy called Guybrush Threepwood and his biggest wish is to become a pirate. Before he can call himself that he needs to perform some assignments for the islands three pirate leaders amongst other things.
This is a point-and-click game. In the old days you would use your mouse to control the cursor and click on the specific task you would want to perform. Like open a door, give an item to someone, and so on. It is the same way on the iPhone, you drag your finger to control the cursor in the game. I am not sure if I like it that way. They could have changed the way they handle the input in my opinion, however the irritation kind of diminishes when you realize how good game this really is!
The game features full voice acting from many of the original cast members. Re-mastered music with live instruments and an new contemporary art-style. You can seamlessly switch from classic edition to special edition. While playing the game.
Despite of my issues with the way you control the game, it is a true classic and it works well on the iPhone. This game should be in every iPhone users library.
