Plex Works With Snow Leopard!

plex icon I have written my thoughts about Plex before in this article: mac mini as media center. Check it out if you want to take a deeper look into this software. Plex has quickly become my all time favorite media center solution. When Apple released the new cat Snow Leopard, Plex had some issues and it didn't work good with the new OS from Apple.

The newly released version 0.8.3 rectifies a lot of the problems we saw in Snow Leopard. I can confirm this myself as it seems to work alright on my own mac mini htpc setup.

When you download this new version you will also be able to download a new driver that should work out any remote issues with Snow Leopard. You get a little popup about this the first time you start the software.

Plex is still under heavy development and the software is free of charge. As far as I know Plex don't use any of the new tech we have available in Snow Leopard, such as grand central dispatch or Open CL. When the time comes I am sure the developers will find a way to take advantage of the new features and make Plex even better.

While you are at it, give the developers some beer ;)

Download Plex and try it out for yourself.
