Have Windows running inside Mac OS X. You can even make it so that the Windows application you need look like it is a native Mac OS X application, without having the Windows desktop showing.... I got to say we definitely have some smart software engineers out there ... All respect to you.

But the Mac is expensive...?

You are right, if you compare the specifications of MacBook Laptops to their Windows PC counterpart usually the Apple Computer Laptops are more expensive. So why should you buy one in the first place, if you can get a Windows PC for a cheaper price ...?

First I would like you to try out one of the MacBook Laptops. I do not mean clicking a little bit 5 minutes in a store somewhere, or well... you could do that just to get a feel for it but try to arrange so you can use it for a while. You will probably notice that work will flow a lot easier and uninterrupted compared to Windows and you might just start liking what you see. Even if you are one of those anti-mac people.

It is about everything working together seamlessly without any annoying problems. You get pre - installed high quality software and that is worth a lot in my opinion. I wont say that the specifications is NOT important at all, you still would like a high performing notebook and you get that. Because of the optimized software and the operating system. Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be even better of using the resources correctly.
