MacBook Issues, Should I Stay Away From The Mac?

In a perfect world there would be no MacBook issues whatsoever. If you are on the fence about whether you should switch to Mac you should explore both sides of the argument.

It is naive to think that the Mac doesn't have any problems at all. Electronic equipment can fail, even Macs fail from time to time but people tend to overlook this sometimes. I am not saying that the Mac have a lot of problems, it usually works just fine. But it is plain stupidity to think that it never fails.

Mac Icon When problems surface and get reported to Apple they are usually solved. However, keeping customers informed and keeping them in the loop about a specific problem is not always done right, in my opinion. They often quietly release a fix, and we just have to wait for it with no further information. This "no comment" attitude from Apple is frustrating and annoying. I think they should take a step back and really think about who pays their paycheck each month. Their customers do, we do.

This basically sums up what I don't like about Apple. I like the products they make, so I just have to stick with their attitude sometimes.

MacBook Problems

Talking about the MacBook issues, there have been a few of them during the years. What I have seen first hand is mostly on the white MacBook. Hairline cracked casing, defective / flickering screens, discoloration to name a few. It would be wise being on the lookout if you are going to buy a used MacBook. Today Apple have fixed most of these problems anyway. If you buy a brand new machine any MacBook issues would be taken care of using the warranty you get.

I work in an IT company where we among other things repair PC laptops from HP and Lenovo. They have their problems too you know...

You should also think about the fact that once a user get a problem, you will probably hear about it. Most users are not having any problems, and they doesn't say so much if their computer works. This will make it look like any computer have loads of problems, even when large amount of people do not have any MacBook issues at all.

Should I Buy The Mac Then?

Yes you should. What I am trying to say with this article is not that you should expect problems with your Mac. Most of them works just fine. That is my experience anyway. If you do run into problems you always have the 1 - year warranty, or 3 year if you bought Apple Care. The Internet can also help you with specific issues should they arise.
