Mac VS PC, who wins this fight anyway?
Who wins in the fight Mac vs PC ?
As you might have noticed this website is all about the products Apple make, and other products related to this company somehow. Maybe you have some friends telling you to make the switch to mac and somehow you try to find out if you should bother doing it at all.
Even though I happen to like Mac OS X and some of the products Apple make I will try to be as objective as possible regarding this question. It actually took me a whole year to be 100% comfortable with my computer change, and now I really like what I did. Mac VS PC is there a winner?
Some people are afraid they will feel uncomfortable when they switch to Mac because they believe they have to re-learn everything they have gotten to know by now. It could even seem harder for those not used to computers. Why bother learn something new when you already feel comfortable with what you are doing right now? When it works fine too.
If you really feel the above statement is true for you maybe you should just stick with that, then the PC wins in the Mac VS PC question. However if you are curious and feel there might be a chance for you wanting to try something new just keep on reading.
One of the arguments I hear in the Mac VS PC discussion is that Macs are expensive to buy compared to the PC counterpart. People often compare the hardware specifications like CPU speed, graphics card and so on, and of course this is understandable. While it might be true you can get a cheaper PC with better specs compared to the Mac I like to answer the question with the software you get with the Mac. Mac OS X is the best operating system I have ever tried. And it is just one version. There is no Mac OS X Home Edition, Premium Edition, Ultra Edition and so on. Just plain Mac OS X. it is the same operating system from the cheapest Mac Mini to the most expensive Mac Pro.
With Mac OS X you also get a lot of good quality software included for free, I at least feel this is worth something. If you place no value in software this argument would probably not work on you. Then a PC might be the better choice. Also read more about the insides of Mac OS X.
Games Games Games ... who wins ? To be honest I would say the PC. Even now when the Mac have a respectable amount of games. If you use computers mainly for gaming the Mac platform would probably not be right for you. Gamers also tend to upgrade their hardware once in a while. And while you still can upgrade RAM and Hard-drive space in nearly all Macs the graphics is another question. New games often require fast graphic processing and Apple is a bit slow to offer computers with the latest graphics cards.
If you are a casual gamer there are still hope for you, you can still switch to Mac and play games. More and more games become available for the Mac platform due to its increased popularity. If you want you can read about Mac Games and also get to know where to get free quality Mac games.
There are also those with applications they need to run in Windows for example. This might put off some potential switchers. Now though there is virtualization software that makes you able to run the Windows application you want inside Mac OS X. You can also run the software so it looks like it is a Mac OS X application! There is also bootcamp from Apple wich will allow you to install Windows natively on your Mac. The drawback here is the fact that you have to restart your computer if you want to use Windows. With virtualization software you do not have to do that because it runs Windows inside Mac OS X.
In the end the decision is yours. You have to decide if this is something you want to pursue further. If you feel you want to know more check out the links below for more information.
