You may have heard about a jailbreak iPhone process, this is a process that open up the file system so other applications can be installed on your phone. Not only the ones coming from Apples App Store.
This should not be confused with unlocking the iPhone, this will not unlock the iphone to make it usable on other carriers. Just so you know.
The deal is you can download software Apple normally wouldn't allow in the App Store for some reason. The one I like is iphonenes, it will enable you to play those old classic NES games on your phone, pretty cool.
We also have something called GpSPhone and this is a Nintendo Gameboy Advance emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch currently in beta version. Some games actually work in full speed! And this is on the older iPhone 3G I might add, the newer iPhone 3GS should run this even better. I have a little thing for emulators ... as you might notice.
Ok, you might not like games so much, but there are many reasons for performing this jailbreak. The first thing you need to know is that this is risk free. Jailbreaking only adds more features for you. The phone will stay the same as before. If you want to restore the phone to a factory state because of warranty issues or so it is possible to do that with itunes. No problems at all. You will not void your warranty.
Jailbreaking your iPhone also give you full access to your phones internal system. You can practically do anything you want.
