With iPod Shuffle Apple made it small and cheap
With the iPod Shuffle Apple made a really small music player. Because it has no display you can not select a specific track you want to play.
This also makes the player fairly cheap, the 4GB model costs around $79. Pretty good if you are on a tight budget and still want to listen to music on the move. You can find that cheap mp3 player online, just check the end of this page. Should be less than $79 at least...
Small but sturdy.
The unit is not much bigger compared to a paperclip and so small you almost could attach it to your ear without noticing. The surface is made of brushed metal and it still feels sturdy with good build quality, even because of its small size. The backside of the player contains a built in clip which enables you to attach the player to your clothes in a easy way.
Earbuds goes into the hole on-top this cheap mp3 player where you also find a little light that is green when the player is playing a song, flashing when the player is paused, and off when the player is off. This light also changes color to amber and red, according to the battery level of your iPod. A nice, needed feature. The front of the player have no navigation buttons anymore. The buttons have been moved to the cable on your earbuds.
Because of the name of this player you may understand there is no easy way to select a song you want to hear. To know what song you currently are listening to etc. Still you have some kind of control over this. If you transfer a playlist from iTunes to your unit it will play the songs in the same order as they are made in the playlist. Remember to turn off the shuffle button though.
Sound Quality?
You cant expect to get the same sound quality from it compared to the bigger brothers, like the iPod Classic for example. Despite of this the player delivers hiss and noise free sound. And if you turn up the volume a bit you will notice what this player can do, and it is not bad at all.
Should i buy it?
How often do you really listen through a complete album? Or do you make your own playlists with songs you like from different artists? I think many people today does the latter. So the argument of having no screen should not put off potential buyers. This is a capable music player and it fits everywhere and you can certainly take it with you wherever you go. If you want a cheap mp3 player and good music player I see no reason for not getting it. Check the link below for more information.
