How to unlock iPod - Lost the PIN code? Read on ...

How to unlock iPod - In some of the iPods you can set a 4 digit PIN code to prevent someone else to use your iPod while having it away from your computer. This PIN code only locks the menus and doesn't encrypt any of the data stored on your player.

If you forgot the code you will have to connect the iPod to the computer you synced it with the first time. Open up iTunes when you have it connected and when you disconnect the iPod, it will no longer be locked.

If you do not have access to that computer anymore the only thing left to do is a factory restore. What this does is ERASE everything on your iPod and begins from scratch. This process can be started from iTunes. Please remember that it will delete all songs and data from your iPod, so be sure to have a backup somewhere before you begin.

If you thought Apple support can help you with unlocking the iPod for you without deleting all your songs ... think again. They have stated that the only thing to do in this event is to make a factory restore if the above doesn't work.
