Frostbite is the name of theĀ engine powering a few popular Windows games. It is coming from a Swedish developer called DICE and they are probably mostly known for their popular game: Battlefield 3.

Dice now have a new opening on their website: Mac OS X Engineer. They apparently plan to develop this engine for OS X and I quote:
You will be part of a team focusing on bringing Frostbite to Mac and work closely with game team customers and the Frostbite team to deliver an engine as great on OS X as it is on Windows and traditional console platforms.
What this means is that even more games will come out to OS X in the future. Games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Command & Conquer are games that make use of this engine.
The question is how demanding this engine will be. It is well known that Apple doesnt use the most powerful graphic cards out there. The frostbite engine demands some of your hardware. Maybe they will optimie it so it works better on lower performance Apple hardware?
