Why is it that people search for cheap apple mac laptops? If you want to buy apple mac laptop in most cases you have to shell out more money compared to a Dell, HP or some other brand running Windows. At least considering just the specifications.
With that said it doesn't mean you wont be able to find a great deal. You just have to know where to look, and what to look after. Apple update their laptop line approximately once per year. When they do so the older models often get a price drop.
Mac OS X in my opinion is what makes the Mac, a Mac. In almost all cases you can still run this operating system on a previous generation, and it will work fine.

You have a few options to consider here. First you should consider buying used equipment. This is where you can find the best deal. You can browse around eBay for example. Be sure you buy from someone trustworthy though. Check the feedback and use your gut feeling.
Another option is to check out amazon.com. They are an authorized Apple reseller and they often have good deals on older hardware. In many cases I have experienced Amazon.com to be cheaper compared to the original Apple Store.
This is my third option. The Apple store have a section called special deals where you can buy refurbished products with 1 - year warranty. You will get everything you need such as cables, documentation, installation discs and so on. It will be packaged in a brown box. You will get everything you need to get up and running.
I know about people that are always buying their "new" Mac from the Apple special deals site. You can save quite a bit of money by doing this. Especially if you often want to replace your computer.
So you see there are a few ways to get your new cheap Mac! I would consider Amazon or the Apple special deals page when I am going to buy a Apple Mac laptop again.
