The Apple iPad Tablet

When I first heard about the Apple iPad I was quick in judging it to be an blown up iPhone. It runs the same iOS as the phone and have many of the same applications. So whats the difference except the bigger screen?

After using iPads for a while the bigger screen is the advantage here in my opinion. Surfing the web and checking e-mail is just a better experience compared to a smaller-screen smartphone. Doing those everyday Internet-tasks works well on this apple tablet. Leave it at that though, I do some creative work like updating this website, dabbling in some music making, editing photos and for that the iPad wouldn't cut it for me. However if I did creative work only on my desktop computer and wanted something by the side this tablet would certainly be on my purchase list.

The initial introduction of this device didn't get the response Apple or the late Steve Jobs wanted. From the latest biography written by Walter Isaacson Jobs share his disappointment the night of the release. Mentioning that he got around 800 e-mails that day, most of them criticizing the newly released device. Though that was on the release day, today it seems like Apple struggle to keep up with the demand. People really want the Apple iPad!.

Particularly kids really like the Apple iPad. Even those around 3 years old are beginning to learn how to use these devices. Angry birds is an example of a popular game many people like. My 4 year old son really likes to play that game. You can also use the iPad as a learning tool. You find many apps made for kids. It is possible to encode video to iPads if you want. Imagine a long ride with bus, train, flight or something else with your kids. Take out the tablet and start a movie perhaps?

Apple have a tight control of what you can and cant have on this tablet with the App store just like the iPhone. Some people like it, others don't. Thats just how things are.
