The Apple iPad, All You Need To Know
I don't think anyone could have known how huge a success the Apple iPad would become. The iPad launch in other countries had to be delayed because of this. It makes me wonder, how this device could be so popular?
I don't think this device is targeted to us who are a bit geeky. Because we see this device as a blown up iPhone, without the phone part. We have a hard time understanding why we need this device. I am also sure you have read some jokes about it!
Why does it gain so much popularity? Is it because it has the Apple logo engraved on the back? Maybe ... but I don't think that's the whole story. I actually think people really likes the device! It is not that shocking, if you sit down and think a little about it.
Most of the tasks I do with my computer is: surfing the web, reading e-mail and listening to music. These are the primary tasks I do. If I had the iPad it would be really easy to just pick it up to do all these things. In my opinion it is just as easy to pick up my MacBook but I can see why people might like this device instead. It is smaller and lighter compared with a laptop. Its kind of shiny ... too.
The conclusion is, even if we geeks don't like it, we have to realize we are a minority, and maybe we are wrong ... some times.
